Following Winston's withdrawal from all motorsport sponsorship at the end of 2006, Ten Kate has an exciting and dynamic new partner for this season. After finishing as runner-up in the World Superbike championship with Chris Vermeulen in 2005 and James Toseland last year, HANNspree, the Taiwanese TV manufacturer, is aiming to help the team go one better in 2007, with the familiar Ten Kate mix of innovation, class and experience. Together with James Toseland, who has been signed up again, former 250GP front-runner and MotoGP competitor, Roberto Rolfo, has joined the Superbike team. |

James Toseland will be looking to go one better than his runner-up position of last season and repeat the glory of 2004 when he became the youngest ever winner of the World Superbike championship. Three wins and nine other podium visits in 2006 was an impressive season on a new bike with a new team and Toseland knows exactly what’s required for this year against an even tougher field.
He began his riding career in trials and motocross before switching to road racing. Since winning the British Honda CB500 Cup in 1997, he’s spent time in World Supersport, British Superbikes and, of course, World Superbikes. One of Britain’s most talented and determined sportsmen, Toseland showed the skill to adapt quickly to the four-cylinder Fireblade and mounted a strong title challenge in 2006. His determination to be even stronger this year is clear.

Rolfo has a chance to realise his undoubted potential in 2007 as he makes the move to one of the best-managed teams in the SBK paddock. Gerrit and Ronald Ten Kate have a deserved reputation for not only producing super-fast race bikes but also managing their riders in the most effective way.
Rolfo, a former runner-up in 250 GPs, joins the team after a debut SBK season on relatively uncompetitive machinery and the Italian is looking forward to consistently better results. |
