The new 800cc era

Racing introduction
Honda heads into the 2007 season with an exciting programme of motorcycle sports at all levels, led by the new RC212V 800cc MotoGP machine.
A new engine capacity ruling, new tyre and fuel regulations equals, simply, a challenge for the engineers devoted to bringing success to Honda in the 2007 MotoGP World Championship. Coupled with its World Superbike and Supersport ambitions and those in 125cc and 250cc Grand Prix and in the World Motocross championships, an exciting year ahead beckons for the Honda Motor Company.

In 1954 company founder Soichiro Honda made his famous commitment to World Championship competition stating: “I proclaim with my fellow employees that I will pour all my energy and creative powers into winning.”

That was a commitment that Honda has stuck to and in 2006 resulted in the MotoGP title with a determined Nicky Hayden. With it came a 17th Constructors’ title, the Teams’ title for Repsol Honda and talented newcomer Dani Pedrosa scooped Rookie of the Year.

HRC lines up once more with six official RC212Vs and continues its relationship with Team Roberts by means of supplying the team with engines - a move which led to a very successful debut partnership in 2006 as Kenny Roberts Jr. took sixth place in the World Championship. A commitment to 250cc and 125cc continues with HRC’s long-term commercial partner Repsol also increasing its efforts in the smaller categories.

Ten Kate Honda enters its fourth year of World Superbike competition and sets its sights on improving one place on James Toseland’s runner-up finish in 2006. The team enjoys the first year of partnership with new title sponsor HANNspree and the Dutch Ten Kate organisation is also chasing an incredible sixth successive World Supersport title in 2007.

The racing breed will again be evident in World Motocross with the CAS Honda and Martin Honda teams and Honda’s country-to-country representatives will once more be chasing success in a host of national championships throughout the world.
