Honda SuperCup
There are seven trials on this year’s programme, for the fifth edition of the HONDA SUPERCUP. The first will take place during the championship qualifying rounds at Chenevières (north-east France/54) on 15 and 16 April, and the six others at Open Trophy meetings. This will enable certain riders to take part in the French Supermotard Championship as well as the Supercup. Contestants will be riding for at least an hour and a half each weekend, and taking part in two finals.
The year’s enrolment fee of 250 Euros brings benefits including a 10% discount on purchase of a Honda CRF450R 2007, a Motul lubricants kit, and special pricing on partners’ products, as well as season-long results tracking and special race track reception conditions, with organiser François Vincent pulling out all the stops to ensure a good atmosphere. Press releases and photos will be released to the media immediately after each trial, for the best possible exposure.
The only requirements are a LeoVince silencer for the bike and an HJC helmet for the rider.
Michelin is the new tyres partner. France Équipement products are recommended, and there is a Brembo challenge with prizes.
Prizes will be worth a total of 25,000 Euros, with top prize being a 2008 Honda CRF450R model for the winner of the fifth Honda Supercup.
Usual Supercup rules apply. The bike must have its original-fit engine, including air filter and clutch. There will a compliance inspection and power bench test. To ensure minimum season costs and ensure all riders compete under equal conditions, all contestants will ride with identical Michelin tyres, and there will be no tyre warmers or rain tyres.
